The First Issue of "History and Education" Released by Zangak-97 - 01/13/2006
The first issue of the scientific-theoretical and methodical monthly "History and Education" was brought to life by Zangak-97 publisher in December 2005. The birth of the periodical is the response of the following two mutually related social requirements. One was conditioned by the cultural demand of the self-expression of the gradually developing historical-scientific potential, directed by the scientific spectrum of our population, which was resulted in the social imperative for the creation of the new scientific-pedagogical publication. The other demand for the creation of such a periodical emerged in the context of the rising necessity of a thought-provoking forum for discussing the subject of history and the major methodical problems of history-teaching, which has lately been considered crucial in the national concept of education and was brought to the agenda by the diverse spectra of the Armenian educationalists.

In view of this double-sided public demand the executive body of Tatev Scientific Educational Complex established the "History and Education" monthly. According to its twofold inclination the periodical has two editors in chief; professor Albert Stapanian, being in charge of issues related with the subject of history and its theory, and professor Valerie Ghlechyan, in charge of concerns related with the methodics of history-teaching. The editorial council consists of well-known historians, such as professor Hayk Avetisyan, Babken Harutyunyan, Ashot Melkonyan, Aram Simonyan, Aram Kosyan, etc.

The monthly promises an essential investment in the process of further development of historiography and its first issue not only got its proper appreciation in the scientific circles of Armenia but also received a positive reception by the wide circles of the Armenian community interested in history and history-related issues.
